Golden Eaglets to face Burkina Faso in WAFU B Under-17 Championship final

The Golden Eaglets of Nigeria will take on Burkina Faso in the final of the WAFU B U-17 tournament on Friday.

In the second semi-final which was played on Tuesday, Burkina Faso edged hosts Ghana 1-0, courtesy of a second half penalty converted by Ousmane Camara.

This second semi-final result means both Burkina Faso and the Golden Eaglets will be at next year’s U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Algeria.

Voter registration: Nigerians to receive PVCs January 2023 – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has said that the Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs of eligible voters who are just completing their registration may not be ready until January 2023.

The Resident Electoral Commissioner of Federal Capital Territory, Yahaya Bello, stated this at a briefing in Abuja ahead of the Youth Vote Count Mega Music Concert this coming Saturday.

Bello sounded a note of warning at the event saying, that anybody just registering cannot immediately collect them until after the end of the whole exercise”.

FG to prosecute food vendors using transformer oil to cook

The Federal Government is making plans to prosecute users of PolyChlorinated Biphenyl (PCBs), popularly known as transformer oil, in frying “Akara”, plantain chips, chicken and other food items.

A Consultant to the Federal Ministry of Environment, Babajide Alloy, stated this on Tuesday in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of a workshop in Calabar.

According to him, the consumption of food prepared from the chemical substance will expose the public to cancers of the lungs, heart, kidney and liver diseases.

The Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, Brig-General Mohammed Farah, has called on the 2022 Batch B stream 1 corps members nationwide to ensure they utilize the opportunity given to them as corps members by participating actively in all camp activities.
