The Young Progressives Party, YPP, has confirmed the expulsion of the federal lawmaker representing Nnewi North, Nnewi South and Ekwusigo, Uzokwe Peter.
The decision was taken at the party’s 24th National Executive Committee meeting held in Abuja on Thursday, after they reviewed multiple petitions and “verified video evidence” of alleged anti-party conduct.
Recall that in the viral clip which was taken during campaign for the Anambra GOVERNORSHIP election, Uzokwe boldly declared his support for Anambra State governor, Chukwuma Soludo, and also said that the YPP is not contesting any election.
The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Egbeola Martins, condemned the lawmaker’s statement as false, misleading, and a deliberate act of sabotage against the party.
