The immediate past Governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has pleaded not guilty to the 16-count charge the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought against him.
Bello pleaded not guilty this Wednesday after he was taken before trial Justice, Maryann Anenih, of a High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting at Maitama, alongside two other defendants, Umar Oricha and Abdulsalami Hudu.
The charge against the defendants borders on conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and possession of unlawfully obtained property.
The EFCC accused Bello of misusing state funds to acquire properties.
Recall that Bello’s whereabouts remained unknown until the moment he surrendered himself to the EFCC on Tuesday.
