The National Crisis Management Centre in Macedonia has said there are 21 wildfires active and being fanned by strong winds in that country.
They said this late on Wednesday, saying some of these wildfires are moving close to populated areas while suspecting that some are arson cases.
Reports say more fires broke out on Wednesday around the capital Skopje, after the government declared a “state of crisis” on Tuesday.
Authorities have warned Macedonia citizens to stay at home with windows closed.
