Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has faulted the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP, Umar Damagum, for directing Samuel Anyanwu, to resume duty at the party’s national secretariat as the National Secretary.
Recall that following a meeting with the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Damagum reinstated Anyanwu as the party’s national secretary and suspended its planned National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for June 30.
Wike reacted to this saying Damagum lacks the authority to give such an order, also saying Anyanwu has been working and needs no reinstatement.
Meanwhile, 11 out of 19 members of the PDP National Working Committee have rejected the reinstatement of Anyanwu and have also insisted that the party’s National Executive Committee meeting scheduled for June 30, would hold as planned.
