West Ham United have named former Chelsea manager Graham Potter as their new head coach to replace Julen Lopetegui on a two-and-a-half year contract.
The management of West Ham United said this in a post on their official X handle this Thursday.
Potter says it was important to him to wait until a job he felt was right for him came along.
He says his conversations with the chairman and the board have been very positive and constructive, saying they share the same values of hard work and high energy to create the solid foundations that can produce success.
He says they are on the same wavelength in terms of what is needed in the short-term and then how they want to move the club forward in the medium to long term.
This marks Potter’s return to a managerial role for the first time since he left Chelsea in April 2023.
His first game will be the Football Association Cup third-round tie at Aston Villa on Friday.
