The United States (US) mission in Nigeria, says it will close its operation for Thursday Jan. 9, to honour former US President Jimmy Carter.
The U.S.mission said this in a post on its official handle X this Thursday, saying the U.S. Embassy in Abuja and Consulate General in Lagos will be closed in honor of Carter’s passing.
They say they remember Carter’s tireless advocacy for peace, democracy, and human rights.
Recall that Carter died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2024 at the age of 100.
