The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has debunked a publication which claimed that the South East has been neglected in road infrastructure development.
Umahi dismissed the publication this Monday through the ministry’s Director of Press and Public, Mohammed Ahmed, describing it as mischievous and deceptive.
The publication was titled “The Politics of Asphalt: Why is the South East Missing from the Map?”
Umahi demanded the immediate retraction of the publication as he insisted that President Bola Tinubu has been fair to all regions of the country, including the South East.
He said four Legacy Projects have been approved to cover all six geo-political zones, and according to him, one of them, which runs from Cross River through Ebonyi, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa to Abuja, includes a significant portion in the South East.
He also says Tinubu has revived 90 per cent of abandoned road projects, some dating back to 2013, and still executing new ones without discrimination.
