Turkey has detained nine people in connection with the deadly fire outbreak that left 76 people dead and injured over 50 others at a ski resort.
Turkey’s Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya said this to newsmen this Wednesday, saying the owner of the hotel has also been detained.
Yerlikaya says the bodies of 45 victims have been handed over to their families, while DNA tests are being conducted to identify the remaining bodies.
The authorities at Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya ski resort where the fire broke out, expressed deep sorrow this Wednesday and pledged full cooperation with the investigation, while Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan has declared Wednesday a day of national mourning following the tragedy.
