In a bid to arrange a cease fire deal between Russia and Ukraine, US President Donald Trump says he has now spoken with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, a day after speaking to Russia’s President Vladimir Putin.
Trump describes the call as a “very good” phone call which is a sharp contrast to Zelensky’s visit to the White House last month.
Recall that Zelensky’s last visit to the white house led to a heated exchange between the 2 presidents
However, after the recent phone call, Zelensky says he believes that “lasting peace can be achieved this year” under Trump’s leadership.
