President Bola Tinubu has sympathized for the six soldiers who were killed in a terrorist attack on an army base in Sabon Gida, Damboa in Borno State.
The presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said this to newsmen this Thursday, saying the sacrifices and dedication of the military do not go unnoticed.
Tinubu commended the armed forces for their swift and decisive response, particularly the air component, in launching effective retaliatory strikes, saying Nigeria stands firmly behind them in the ongoing fight to eliminate these threats.
He says a thorough investigation to uncover the circumstances that led to the incident would be carried out to ensure that it serves as a valuable lesson to prevent similar occurrences.
He says the military has demonstrated the capability and readiness to confront and defeat threats to the nation’s security, saying that their actions are paving the way for a future where peace and security would prevail for all Nigerians.
Tinubu called on Nigerians and the media to support the military’s efforts to restore peace and security in the nation.
