Suspected bandits have reportedly abducted eight members of the Evangelical Church of West Africa (ECWA) Church Omugo, in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Reports say they attacked the church during their service on Sunday, shooting sporadically and abducting 8 church members, however, three of them have been rescued by a joint security team.
The Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, Bolanle Olukoju, confirmed this as she commended the security forces, forest guards, and local vigilantes for the rescue of three of the eight victims of the abduction.
Nonetheless, the Kwara state government tasked security forces and local vigilantes to ensure that the bandits are apprehended and the other members are rescued.
