The Director of Information at the National Sports Commission, NSC, Kehinde Ajayi, has confirmed that Nigerian athletes will attend a four-week residential training camp in Scotland ahead of the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

Ajayi says the Director General of the NSC, Bukola Olopade, confirmed this on Sunday, saying the training base in Aberdeen will enhance coordination and reduce travel-related challenges for Team Nigeria.

Olopade, who recently visited Scotland to secure accommodation for the team, says their early arrival will help them acclimatize and train under similar conditions.

The 2026 Commonwealth Games will be held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to Aug. 2, featuring ten sports.
