The South-South caucus of the Senate has held an emergency meeting to strengthen support for the Tax Bills which has divided the National Assembly following contentions over the VALUE ADDDED TAX (VAT) provisions in the tax reform bills.
The federal lawmakers hailed the tax reform bills, saying that they will enhance national revenue and foster economic stability.
The lawmakers also passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
Meanwhile, there was confusion in the Senate on Thursday as Akpabio denies that the public hearing on the Tax Reform Bills has not been suspended.
