The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, has dismissed claims that the northerners were against the proposed Tax Reform Bills.
Akume said this to newsmen on Sunday, saying he has consulted senior citizens, leaders and religious leaders from the region who expressed their supports for the bills.
He says the bills have nothing to do with any one section of this country, saying it’s not proposed against the north as he is also a northerner.
He says there are others who are attacking the bills purely from the perspective of opposition politics, saying he thinks that the final analysis should go to the National Assembly and anyone who has a comment to make can write it or share whenever the Assembly decides to hold public hearing.
