Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, has officially announced his retirement from international football, after a 10-year career with Nigeria’s senior national team.
He made the announcement on Thursday via his X page, reflecting on his journey, achievements, and the honour of representing the country.
He wrote that going on to captain the Super Eagles was beyond his dreams, having the trust of Nigeria to lead and represent a nation of over 230 million.
Troost-Ekong, who has earned 83 caps and featured in five major tournaments for Nigeria, said he’s at peace knowing that he gave all he had and has been able to inspire the next generation.
