The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, and the Non-Academic Staff Union, NASU, have written a letter to the Accountant General of the Federation, Shamseldeen Ogunjimi, over delays in the payment of their salary.

Reports say university Workers across federal tertiary institutions have not received their April 2025 salaries, and according to union sources, the delay may be linked to the recent migration of the unions from the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System, IPPIS to the Government Integrated Financial Management Information System platform, GIFMIS

In the letter, SSANU President, Mohammed Ibrahim, said since the migration to GIFMIS, salaries of their members are often paid two weeks after those of other federal workers.

He warned that the current trend could erode industrial harmony within the university system, urging the Accountant General to investigate and resolve the issue urgently.
