Anambra state governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has welcomed about 15,000 defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra to the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
Soludo welcomed them to APGA in Awka on Wednesday, as he described APGA as not just a political party but a movement where everyone is equal and included.
Soludo said his first political party was the PDP and he was the flag bearer in the 2010 governorship election in Anambra,” during which time he worked with many of the defectors. But he also said he decided to join APGA in 2013 and stayed because it was his last bus stop.
The APGA chairman in Anambra, Ifeatu Obi-Okoye, who received the new members, applauded the governor’s leadership for inspiring defections from rival parties.
