Anambra state governor, Chukwuma Soludo has said the state is close to being one of the safest states in Nigeria as a result of the measures he has put in place to tackle insecurity.
Soludo said this at the media chat he had with select journalist in Awka on Monday, to commemorate his 3rd year in office.
Soludo says he’s aggressively tackling one of the root causes of insecurity by clamping down on native doctors who promise young men wealth without work; as well as with the establishment of the new security outfit, Udo ga-achi.
Furthermore, when asked whether the release of the leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, would reduce tensions in the state, Soludo reiterated his stance that the perpetrators of crime have nothing to do with Kanu but only disguise as agitators to carry out their criminal activities.
Soludo also downplayed the observance of the Monday sit-at-home, saying it’s not being adhered to and is not as serious as the media depicts sometimes.
