The governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, has described the report that his government plans to borrow N245 billion to finance the 2024 budget as fake news.
Soludo said this to newsmen during a state broadcast to mark the 33rd anniversary of the creation of Anambra State.
He says for nearly three years of his being governor, he has not borrowed a dime. However, he says enterprises can borrow to provide goods and services and the economy can generate enough resources to pay back.
The governor also says thirty-three years after the creation of Anambra state, the state ranks the top five or six most viable economies, ranks the lowest in poverty index, and has the largest urban cities with four major cities in the state.
