The Troops of a Joint Task Force in the South-East called “Operation UDO KA,” say they have arrested three kidnappers in the South-East and have killed 13 armed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
The spokesman of the task force, Lt. Col. Jonah Unuakhalu, said this this Monday in Enugu, also saying that the feat is in furtherance of the troops’ clearance operations to make the South-East safe and peaceful throughout the Yuletide.
Unuakhalu says that on December 21, while the troops were carrying out an ambush operation along Amouka-Umouka Road in 9th Mile, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, they came in contact with the kidnappers, which led to a gun duel that killed one while others escaped with gunshot wounds.
The spokesman also said that on December 16, troops of Sector 5 conducted a clearance operation within Mbosi and Isseke general areas in the Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra, where three IPOB members were killed.
Unuakhalu says the Force Commander, Maj. Gen. Hassan Dada, has called on all well-meaning citizens to continue to support the joint task force by providing timely, reliable, and credible information.
