Senate Postpones Public Hearing For Alleged Sabotage In The Petroleum Industry

Senate Postpones Public Hearing For Alleged Sabotage In The Petroleum Industry
The Senate has postponed the public hearing for the alleged sabotage in the petroleum industry from September 10, 2024.

The Leader of the Senate and Chairman of the Senate Ad-hoc Committee to Investigate the Alleged Economic Sabotage in the Nigerian Petroleum Industry, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, said this to newsmen on Sunday.

Bamidele says the hearing was postponed in order to have wider consultations with the relevant stakeholders whose participation will add value to the investigative hearing.

Some key stakeholders who were summoned to appear before the committee at a public hearing include the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, officials of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigeria Ports Authority, amongst others.

Bamidele says a new date for the public hearing would be communicated to all stakeholders in due course.
