The order by Russia’s President Vladimir Putin for a three-day truce with Ukraine, in order to commemorate the country’s World War II Victory Day, has taken effect.
The three-day order began at midnight this Thursday and is scheduled to last until the end of Saturday, 10th May 2025
Meanwhile, reports say Ukraine never agreed to the truce and has dismissed it as theatrics, calling instead for a 30-day ceasefire.
Nonetheless, Russian forces have said it will honor Putin’s order to cease fire, but will respond “immediately” if Ukraine launches any attacks.
