The Rivers State Government has denied reports that its sole administrator summoned the suspended governor of the state Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor, Ngozi Odu.
The Permanent Secretary, Special Services Bureau, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Dede Friday, condemned the reports describing them as “attempts to mislead the public, incite panic, and disrupt the peace in the state.”
Friday clarified that no such publication originated from the Office of the SSG as he emphasised that official communications from the Rivers State Government are disseminated exclusively through verified channels, including the official government website, authorised social media handles, press releases from the Office of the Governor and the SSG, as well as approved traditional media outlets.
Friday urged the public to disregard the report and any similar misinformation, warning that such fabrications are the handiwork of individuals’ intent on destabilizing the state.
