The Spokesperson for the Rivers state Police command, Grace Iringe-Koko, says they have arrested five suspected criminals who attacked operatives at a filling station in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, and recovered rifles stolen during the attack.

She said that operatives had been pursuing the suspects who stole weapons belonging to the force, after an earlier assault last month.

Iringe-Koko also said their arrest followed a directive by the state Commissioner of Police, Olugbenga Adepoju, who instructed the Anti-Kidnapping Unit to take over the investigation.

She further added that the suspects were linked to several crimes in Port Harcourt and other parts of the state.
