A former Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Dan Ulasi, has said the reaction of the presidency to the lecture by former president Olusegun Obasanjo at Yale University in the United States was toxic.
Ulasi said this to newsmen this Wednesday, saying President Bola Tinubu’s spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga should have replied Obasanjo based on the points he raised in his speech, instead of resorting to personal attacks and antagonism.
He says he sees the harsh exchanges between Obasanjo and Tinubu as a carryover of the animosity that existed when Tinubu was governor of Lagos state and Obasanjo was president of Nigeria.
Ulasi says what Nigeria needs now is positive contributions towards the improvement of the country, and not harsh exchanges that can cause unrest in the country.
