PSC Officials Arrive Benin to Monitor Police Conduct during Edo Poll

We have news that the monitoring team of the Police Service Commission, PSC, have arrived in Edo State ahead of the September 21 governorship poll in the state.

The Head of Press and Public Relations at the PSC, Ikechukwu Ani, announced this this Thursday, saying the personnel will monitor the conduct of police officers during the governorship elections in the state.

He says the staff monitors will operate from the three senatorial districts and will hold the police accountable for their actions or inactions before, during and after the election.

Ani said the team will be led by a retired deputy inspector general, Taiwo Lakanu, and will include other high-ranking staff.

He says the monitoring of police conduct during elections is one of the Commission’s obligations to ensure the sustenance of the nation’s fragile democracy.
