Protests have broken out in the capital of Plateau State, in Jos, over the incessant killings of indigenous residents by gunmen suspected to be Fulani militants.
Reports say the protest is being led by Christian leaders including the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Rev. Polycarp Lubo.
The protest commenced early this Monday morning at the Fawvwei Junction community road, and has reportedly caused a heavy gridlock which has also led to commuters being stranded.
The protesters were seen carrying placards with different inscriptions and marching towards the Rayfield Government House.
Recall that there has been a surge in violent attacks by gunmen in various communities in Plateau state, with over 100 people killed in Bokkos and Bassa LGAS in the past two weeks.
