The Ondo State Police Command and other security agencies, have carried out a coordinated joint show-of-force patrol across strategic locations in the state.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police, Abayomi Jimoh, said this Tuesday that the exercise took place on Monday, involving officers from the Police, 32 Brigade Artillery of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Amotekun Corps.
They covered highways, commercial centres, and densely populated areas in Akure and adjoining communities, as part of a broader security strategy to proactively tackle crime and ensure that residents go about their lawful activities without fear or intimidation.
He added that security agencies are working around the clock to maintain peace, urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
He also expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, while encouraging members of the public to cooperate with security operatives during patrols and other lawful operations.
