The Oyo State Police Command has rescued four passengers abducted along the Igbeti–Kishi Road in Irepo Local Government Area of the state.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, said this Friday that four passengers were abducted by assailants who intercepted a commercial bus traveling from Igbeti to Kishi, prompting the state Commissioner of Police, Femi Haruna, to order Divisional Police Officers and tactical teams to launch an immediate rescue operation.
A combined security team comprising Police operatives, members of the Amotekun Corps, Operation Burst, and other local security stakeholders swiftly moved to the area to commence an intensive search of the surrounding forests, which resulted in the successful rescue of the four victims who have since been reunited with their families unhurt.
He says security operatives have continued combing the area to apprehend the fleeing suspects and has urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information that could assist security agencies in tracking down the perpetrators.
