The Ondo State Police Command says it has arrested a wanted kidnapper identified as Abdullahi Lawal, terrorising Ikare-Akoko in Akoko North East Local Government Area of Ondo state.
The spokesperson of the Command, Abayomi Jimoh, who made this known this Tuesday in Akure, said the suspect was the ring leader of the kidnapping gang.
Jimoh also said the arrest followed sustained intelligence gathering and coordinated operational strategies, after four suspects were arrested and the gang leader, Abdullahi, escaped with gunshot injuries.
He further said that Abdullahi has since made useful confessional statements and will be charged in court.
Jimoh further reiterated the command’s zero tolerance for kidnapping and other violent crimes, assuring residents that efforts were being intensified to dismantle all criminal networks operating within the state and its surrounding communities.
