The candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential elections, Peter Obi, has asked President Bola Tinubu to suspend his retreat in France and return to Nigeria to tackle the insecurity challenges in the country.
Obi made the call on X this Wednesday, saying over 150 Nigerians have been killed in the last two weeks in Plateau, Zamfara, and Borno State since Tinubu left Nigeria for France.
He says the rising incidents of criminalities across Nigeria, including pipeline explosions in Niger Delta, is a reflection of a nation in distress and the absence of governance.
Obi says the primary duty of any government is to safeguard the lives and property of its citizens, saying Tinubu should immediately return to Nigeria to take responsibility and address the disturbing issues in the country.
