The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) has mourned the passing of an elder statesman and founder of the body, Edwin Clark, who died at the age of 97.
The National Publicity Secretary and Spokesman of PANDEF, Obiuwevbi Ominimini, said this this Tuesday, saying Clark was known for his tireless advocacy for justice and human rights.
Ominimini says Clark was known for his outspoken defence of marginalised communities and his relentless pursuit of a fair and equitable society, saying his contributions extended beyond politics into the legal profession, education, and community development—where he founded several universities.
He says Clark’s brilliant mind will continue to inspire future generations to strive for a more just and compassionate society.
A representative of Clark’s family, confirmed the death to newsmen this Tuesday, saying Clark died on Monday.
