Former Anambra State governorship aspirant, Valentine Ozigbo, has explained why he left the Labour Party, LP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC, describing his decision as a difficult but necessary step driven by love for Anambra State.

In a statement he made on X this Tuesday, Ozigbo said he felt pressured to address questions surrounding his political move ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state.

Ozigbo said that he witnessed a level of betrayal and sabotage within the Labour Party top leadership unlike anything he had encountered in public life saying that deliberate efforts were made at the leadership level to stop his candidacy at all costs.

He further said that he would have stayed to continue the fight from within, but he had long realized that in the process of chasing him out, they ended up ruining the party itself out of selfishness and short-sightedness.
