The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, has expressed optimism that the Ondo State governorship election would be a successful exercise.
Yakubu said this on Monday during his visit to the Ondo state headquarters in Akure, saying he was there to assess the preparation of the INEC state office, ahead of the November 16 poll.
He says though the challenges they usually face are in the areas of logistics and results management, INEC has learned its lessons from the Edo State governorship election as well as previous elections and he is positive that this election will be a success.
He says he will meet with the stakeholders including political parties, civil society organisations, the media, security agencies and INEC staff to assess their readiness.
