The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, and the Olubadan-In-Council have commiserated with the families of the children who were stampeded to death at a children’s carnival in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The monarch’s Chief Press Secretary, Olugbemiga Ayoade, says the ruler also condemned the tragic and untimely death of the children, calling on the government to investigate the incident and prevent future occurrences
Recall that over 30 children were reportedly stampeded to death at a funfair that was held at Islamic High School, Basorun, in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, while several others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
Oba Olakulehin, along with the Olubadan-In-Council, wished the injured a speedy recovery and urged the State Government to hold the culprits accountable.
They also called on parents and guardians to prioritize the safety of their children and wards at all times.
