The Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has said that the state government would rebuild the shops razed by fire at Ekpoma Police Division.

Okpebholo gave the assurance when he visited the police station to assess the damage to the shops constructed by the Police Officers’ Wives Association.

He spoke directly to shop owners at the scene, saying he felt deeply pained by the development, noting that recent events in Ekpoma point to a pattern of coordinated attacks.

Okpebholo also dismissed claims that the attackers were Fulani herdsmen, saying they were political elements bent on destabilizing the area.

He further assured the affected traders of swift government intervention and renewed security action.
