Former Special Adviser on Political Matters to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, Babafemi Ojudu, has said that he plotted the impeachment of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Fayose with the support of former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
Ojudu said this to newsmen this Thursday, saying he had an agreement and signed that Fayose should be impeached but his deputy should not be. He says he was not a senator but a journalist who had money, saw that people were not happy with Fayose, and exploited it.
He says he took all the lawmakers to Lagos where he kept them in hotels and fed them. He says he used Obasanjo and when Obasanjo realized it, he fought back against him.
Ojudu says Fayose sued him for libel, saying he went to court with Femi Falana as his lawyer and that the rule was in his favour.
He says Fayose became the second governor of Ekiti on 29 May 2003, after defeating the incumbent Governor, Niyi Adebayo in the gubernatorial elections, saying his tenure was cut short as a result of the impeachment on 16 October, 2006
