Ebonyi State Government has expressed shock at the recent killing of thirteen Ebonyi indigenes residing in Ogbo-ji, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State during their monthly town union meeting on Monday.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Ebonyi State Governor Monday Uzor says Governor Francis Nwifuru has reached out to the Governor of Anambra State, Chukwuma Soludo, to ensure a swift investigation into the tragic incident.
He said Ebonyi State trusts that the Anambra State Government and relevant security agencies will work swiftly to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice as failure to do so will negatively affect the relationship between both states.
Our Correspondent in Ebonyi State Emmanuel Nnaji reports that Nwifuru appealed to Ebonyi people, to remain calm and refrain from any form of reprisal or actions that may escalate tensions.
