NLC Demands Reversal of Petrol Price Hike

NLC Demands Reversal of Petrol Price Hike

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has rejected the new increase in petrol pump price, saying it will further deepen poverty in the country.

The NLC President, Joe Ajaero, said this on Wednesday, berating the government for increasing the pump price of petrol without commensurate capacity of Nigerians or mitigatory measures.

He said the NLC challenges the government to go back to the drawing board and present Nigerians with a blueprint for an inclusive economic growth and national development insisting that the government immediately reverse the price hike.

Retail outlets owned by the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) adjusted the pump price of petrol on Wednesday in Lagos and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja from ₦855 to #998
