The National Judicial Council has recommended 14 candidates to President Bola Tinubu for appointment as judges of the Federal High Court.
The council said this on Thursday it’s Deputy Director of Information, Kemi Babalola-Ogedengbe, noting that the decision was made during it’s 110th meeting, held on January 13 and 14, 2026.
The NJC explained that the recommendations were initially delayed due to the unavailability of security reports on the candidates, the council resolved to wait for the submission of the reports before forwarding the nominees’ names to the President.
The council further said that having received the security report, with no adverse comments on any of the recommended candidates, it forwarded the names of the candidates to the President.
