A nine-year-old boy has died after being trapped between rocks at a popular holiday spot in New South Wales, NSW, in Australia.
Police and other emergency services say they tried to free the boy from the site at South West Rocks on Sunday afternoon but he died at the scene.
The chief executive of the Surf Life Saving at NSW, Steven Pearce, says rescue crews have also been taking part in countless rescues as many holidaymakers who made their way to the coast this past weekend suffered drowning incidents.
Pearce says it’s the worst drownings they’ve seen on an Easter weekend describing it as extremely tragic.
