The Nigeria Police Force says it has arrested 12 suspected kidnappers and three gun-runners in coordinated operations across several states, resulting in the recovery of multiple firearms and ammunition.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, announced this this Tuesday, saying the arrests were made following credible intelligence and joint efforts involving local vigilantes, hunters, and various police commands.
Adejobi says operatives of the Force Intelligence Department Special Tactical Squad (FID-STS), collaborated with the Taraba State Police Command, and arrested four suspected kidnappers in Taraba State, while they were allegedly planning a kidnap operation.
Adejobi also says a successful raid conducted at the hideout of a gang terrorizing Taraba, Adamawa, Gombe, Plateau, Bauchi, and Kaduna States, led to the arrest of another five suspected kidnappers.
Furthermore, he said 5 other kidnap suspects were arrested in different areas in Kaduna state. He assured that all the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
