New Power Minister, Tegbe, Pledges Urgent Reforms in Power Secctor
The new Minister of Power, Olasunkanmi Tegbe, has pledged to launch urgent reforms to stabilize the country’s power sector, assuring Nigerians that the era of repeated national grid collapses and erratic electricity supply will soon come to an end.

Tegbe gave the assurance during his screening before the Senate plenary in Abuja, where he was later confirmed as power minister following intense questioning from lawmakers over the state of the electricity sector.

Tegbe pledged a 100-day reform window aimed at stabilizing the grid and introducing a public performance dashboard to allow Nigerians to track progress and hold the ministry accountable.

He further assured the Senate that his reform plan would prioritize stronger coordination across the electricity value chain, improved gas supply to generation companies, and accelerated nationwide metering to reduce estimated billing and improve revenue collection.
