The Caretaker Committee in the Labour Party led by Nenadi Usman, has announced that it has commenced an investigation into the “numerous corruption and forgery allegations” levelled against the National Chairman, Julius Abure.
Usman said this at a press conference in Abuja on Wednesday, which was held to counter the National Executive Council meeting convened last week by the National Working Committee of the faction led by Abure.
Usman says a disciplinary committee chaired by the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory, Ireti Kingibe, with LP chieftain, Peter Ameh, as secretary, has been established to probe the allegations against Abure and recommend appropriate sanctions, if found guilty.
Meanwhile there are reports that Abure’s faction on the other hand, has announced the suspension of Abia state governor, Alex Otti and six other key party figures, including Kingibe, Darlington Nwokocha, Victor Ogene, Amobi Ogah, and Seyi Sowumi, over alleged anti-party activities.
