The Nigerian Air Force says airstrikes from the air component of Operation Whirl Punch have killed several terrorists who attacked other security agents in the Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State.
The Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information at the NAF, Kabiru Ali, said this this Thursday, explaining that the NAF joined friendly forces in battling over 100 terrorists who engaged operatives from other security agencies in a fierce gun battle.
Ali says the operation was conducted on Wednesday, and 28 bodies of the terrorists have so far been recovered, with several more terrorists, weapons, and burnt motorcycles still being cleared.
Ali described the operation as successful saying it underscores the NAF’s commitment to protecting the nation and supporting their sister Services and other security agencies in combating banditry, terrorism, insurgency, and all other forms of criminality.
