Myanmar’s junta has extended a state of emergency by six months, four years after it seized power.
The junta’s information team said this to newsmen this Friday, saying the ruling military council headed by army chief, Aung Hlaing, as well as all members of National Defence and Security Council, decided in unison for the extension of the state of emergency for another six months.
The junta’s media says the extension is in preparation for elections it will hold this year, as Myanmar enters its fifth year of crisis.
