The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Heineken Lokbobiri, has called on the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPCL) to relinquish control over its refinery operations.
Lokbobiri said this during the Crude Oil Refinery-Owners Association of Nigeria which took place in Lagos on Tuesday.
The Minister advised the NNPCL to take up equity in the already established and upcoming refineries, just like it did with Dangote.
The Minister’s directive is closely tied to the troubling performance of the country’s refineries.
