The Lagos State Government has commended its chapter of the Joint Health Sector Unions, JOHESU, for its decision to suspend its three-month industrial action, describing the development as a demonstration of goodwill and shared responsibility toward safeguarding public healthcare services in the state.
The Chairman of the Lagos State chapter of JOHESU, Adelaja Gbadamosi, confirmed the suspension of the strike on Sunday, saying it came after the intervention of the state House of Assembly and government executives at a meeting last Friday.
He said they were assured by the Speaker of the House that all their demands will be attended to, and that by this Monday, they would have a Memorandum of Understanding and an agreement.
The Commissioner for Establishments and Training, Afolabi Ayantayo, appreciated JOHESU for embracing dialogue and constructive engagement in resolving outstanding issues.
