The Ministry of Interior in Kuwait says the State Security apparatus has foiled a planned terrorist attack targeting vital facilities in the country following intensive surveillance and investigations.
The Ministry said this to journalists on Wednesday, saying that ten Kuwaiti citizens affiliated with a terrorist cell linked to the banned Hezbollah organization have been arrested.
They said investigations revealed that the cell members received training abroad in camps affiliated with Hezbollah, including the use of weapons and drone operations, as they prepared to carry out terror acts aimed at undermining state sovereignty.
Our Correspondent Emmanuel Nnaji reports that the Kuwait Ministry of Interior emphasized that it will deal decisively with anyone involved in threatening national security or cooperating with terrorist groups.
